Sustainability has long been present in various processes at TUCAI: product development, purchase of components and raw materials, quality system , etc.
We are very aware that our actions have repercussions on society , so every day we try to make our planet a better place. Therefore, in recent years we have carried out several actions related to improving sustainability .
Some sustainable projects of TUCAI
1. WE REDUCED PLASTIC IN PACKAGING
What have we achieved with the new wrapping process for some of our flexible products?
- Reduce plastic by more than 90% .
- Avoiding more than 48,500kg of CO2 emissions to the planet thanks to the elimination of the bagging process for these ranges.
- Minimize pollution by incorporating recyclable cardboard as a packaging option. In addition to switching from two-ink printing to a single ink in order to pollute less.
2. WE ARE COMMITTED TO THE SDGs*
* The SDGs (Sustainable Development Goals) are 17 global goals established by the UN that aim to to build a fairer, more sustainable and equitable world.
What are some of the Sustainable Development Goals that guide us?
- Objective No. 12 , related to improving the efficiency of processes through continuous improvement and responsible production
- Goal No. 13 , which addresses compliance with requirements while always keeping in mind the prevention of pollution and climate change.
3. WE IMPROVE ENERGY EFFICIENCY
What did we achieve with the actions implemented?
- Solar panels already supply 34% of the total energy consumed in 2024.
- Calculating the carbon footprint allows us to implement an emissions reduction plan.
As a company that operates internationally, at Tucai we have already fully adapted to the new European directive and have a sustainability report with the dual materiality matrix, where the environmental, social and economic impacts of the company are analyzed.
With all this, our company’s emphasis on ensuring increasingly sustainable production processes and pollution prevention is becoming more and more evident, and it also fits with one of our main strategic pillars , which is sustainable innovation .
